Woodland' is the debut album of Norwegian Indie folk band HOUSE BY THE LAKE. The band is fronted by the amazing singer, songwriter and guitarist - Sondre Strandskog Arnesen. Prior to the release of their first full-length album, House by the Lake have released the singles "Dark Horse" and "Redwood", which were both well received by radio stations in Norway and the US. A Norwegian radio host said the follwoing about the album: "I put the coffee in my throat the other day when I clicked on what seemed like one of quite a few random promotional mailer that comes to us, and then I got music thrown in your eye, reminiscent of Fleet Foxes and Band of Horses, but that is one guy from Skien, so I though it called Sondre Strandskog Arnesen, and when you hear his gorgeous "Dark Horse" as is however with artist name House by the Lake on Lydverket. " The album was recorded in the studios Lydriket and Klang Kollektivet in Bergen, Norway. The music is inspired by American and British folk, the band has often been compared to bands like Fleet Foxes, Iron and Wine, Midlake and Bon Iver.
