With a handful of songs, endless ideas and two charming voices, the duo 2012 makes its first steps. Supported by the promotion program of the music initiative and a sold-out EP later, the Debutalbum -Flavor & Sin- is critically acclaimed by critics. Compare with Angus & Julia Stone or The Swell Season. While the airplay charts are cracked and the two film music for the Kinofilm -About A Girl- compose, Nick & June play 300 concerts in six European countries. In 2016, the duo takes the next step: The second piece, My November My-, produced by Udo Rinklin (including Philipp Poisel) will be released freshly from the promised indie label AdP Records. The concept album tells the story of the november boy, who is bitterly disappointed by the world and mankind, embittered and self-righteous, but also reflects and self-asserting his thoughts in twelve chapters, to finally leave farewell. Intertextual references to Conor Oberst, National or Belle & Sebastian merge with epic song structures, sophisticated sound effects, deep timpani and march rhythms. Coupled with the central, filigree combination of voices, the clear development at the Nick & Junes factory reveals a lonesome soundtrack and fragile melancholy. While the two multi-instrumentalists change almost every song or sometimes the instruments between guitar, mandolin, ukulele, banjo, electronic bow or bell play, piano, organ, melodica and accordion, the duo has recently been supported by drums and bass. You can be curious about where the paths will lead the duo in the coming year. Safe is simply: Home Is Where The Heart Hurts ...
