Norway’s Sl?tface have released a stream for "Magazine" along with the announcement of their highly anticipated debut album Try Not To Freak Out. The band is led by vocalist Haley Shea with guitarist Tor-Arne Vikingstad, bassist Lasse Lok?y and Halvard Skeie Wiencke on drums. The group will be releasing the album on September 15th through Propeller Recordings. The four-piece is defined by Haley's forceful, firework-splitting punk vocals backed up by the band's undeniably catchy riffs. Whether it's a love song or a critique on power and ego, this is a band with something to say. On the new song "Magazine," Sl?tface set out to challenge absurd body image standards. Some of Haley's vocals include, "Thoughts that aren’t mine keep running through my head… Thunder thighs keeps reaching for the measuring tape." Haley explained, "I really wanted to write a killer breakup song, but I’ve never really had any experience with heartbreaking, devastating, aggressive breakups, so I thought I would write a breakup song about breaking up with bad body image and unrealistic representations of human bodies in media. It's fuelled by the back and forth of knowing that society creates unrealistic expectations regarding what people 'should' look like, and still feeling uncomfortable in your own skin because you don't live up to those images."
