Blonde Redhead aren't ones to place barriers in the way of creativity. So when the trio have an idea, they tend to act on it. Continually pushing ahead, the band recently laid down new material at several locations across New York State. Broadening their sound, Blonde Redhead hooked up with The American Contemporary Music Ensemble for a series of ambitious sessions. The results are rather beautiful indeed. New EP '3 O'Clock' emerges this Friday (March 3rd), and it features four tracks of brave, honest songwriting, matching personal lyricism to some of their most fragrant arrangements yet. Of the title track itself, Kazu Makino offers: "At three in the afternoon, a lot of things happen, how many times we schedule appointments at that time? In Japan, then, it is a holy hour, it’s 'tea time’. Obviously you might even think about the three in the morning, but I wrote the song starting from this suggestion, thinking about what is a significant time to me on a daily basis, a kind of turning point, metaphorically the beginning of a new chapter for Blonde Redhead"
