Andreas Bay Estrup dreamt of a career as a jazz drummer and studied in Copenhagen, Amsterdam and the USA. But things rarely happen as planned. First he started to write songs, then put together a band to play them. Dangers Of The Sea is a group of experienced musicians who have played or are still playing in bands such as Saybia (Jess Jensen), Slaraffenland (Mike Juel Taageh?j), Folkeklubben (Rasmus Jusjong) and Efterklang (Frederik Teige). Jusjong's parents were rehearsed in the basement of Rasmus Jusjong's parents. He took over the drums, while Estrup switched to guitar and vocals. In 2011 they played live for the first time, in 2013 the debut of the same name was released. With his harmonic songs and acoustic guitars, this was influenced by folk rock of the 60s and 70s. No wonder, as the band cites Neil Young as their most important influence. Estrup and his colleagues have been working on their second album for the last few years. "Our Place In History sounds like a reboot on many levels. Estrup continued to write the songs and lyrics, but each member of the band was involved in the arrangements and the sound. Dangers Of The Sea remain true to their roots, but have found their own way and have developed as a band.
