The "silence and quiet amateur", Italy's "cantautore numero uno", Gianmaria Testa unfortunately died far too early at the age of 57. Gianmaria Testa often visited the coffin factory and enthused the audience with his warm, suggestive voice and his thoughtful, sometimes jazzy, sometimes folk arranged Canzoni. Although Gianmaria has been filling large houses in the German-speaking countries in recent years, he liked to come to the coffin factory for a few days. He loved to play with us and for our audience. We loved him too. For this reason, it was a logical step for the coffin factory to stage a "Tribute to Gianmaria Testa" concert. We commissioned the Donauwellenreiter to arrange and rehearse songs of Gianmaria. The concert took place on two days in November 2016 with an outstanding Maria Craffonarra and was so touching and brilliant that visitors still remember this almost magical evening with tears in their eyes. The Danube wave riders themselves were so taken with Gianmaria's poetry and music that they went into the studio to produce a "Testa-CD". The result is now available with this wonderful recording and I think Gianmaria Testa would really enjoy it. (seriously Perbin-Vogl - coffin factory)
