With their second longplayer,"Poly" Hey Ruin now finally deliver the album, which shows a ready and mature band at the peak of their work. Over the long period of 5 months recorded at the Tonmeisterei in Oldenburg and at Gottestweg Studio A in Cologne, 9 songs have been recorded, which lead away from the wild Rumpelemo to the well-considered indie pop with punk affinity. There are real,"pop" and "noisy" moments, which would never lead to Hey Ruins tracks. Whether this is good or bad, one can ask oneself here - for me it was a bit strange at first hearing, because on" Irgas mit Dschungel "(Something with jungle" the first song was such a damn uncompromising crusher, simply serving the brain stem - I was immediately a mega fan? But when I listened to "Poly" for the second time, I suddenly realized that everything here makes sense, it works out very well, is more homogeneous (although different), harmonious and, as I said before: this is done here - Hey ruin are now five, you can hear that somehow. You dare to do more - e. g. a piano and watch out: Winds! It all sounds really bold, and lyrically they are still 105% politically up to date. And let's face it, there's nothing more beautiful than that, is there? Be ready - and if it's still cool then...
