Sometimes all it takes is one thing: to be outside, alone in the foggy, dark reality. A suburban street in pale lantern light that can hardly break the cold haze. An underpass in which only the pungent smell of urine is reminiscent of human existence. A bog at midnight, in which an owl quietly devours its prey and foxes roam silently, while one recognizes one's own insignificance. These are moments in which creative thoughts are born and the sounds of the earth are revealed. Mr K has listened carefully to them. Fragments of Silence "opens a gate to the uncanny and yet undoubtedly earthly void. While "Metamorphoses" was a clear homage to Franz Kafka,"Fragments of Silence" in its desolate state once again wears the shattered, grey hat in front of the great writer, but draws its strength to a large extent from the questions of our existence and the gloomy world of nightly dreams. "You're free and you're lost," reminds us Kafka. Listen attentively, and you will see yourself in the mirror of Lord K and remember that the "found and imprisoned" is not a reflection of the "lost and free" in this bald but beautifully painted black and white world.
