In a time where alternative music is full of darkened perspectives and sarcastic views of the world, melodic punk rock outfit NEW DEADLINE is heading for a different approach: “With ‘To Hope’ we literally wanted to raise our glasses to hope. There's a lot of worrying and uncertainty in the world today so we wanted to inspire people through hope and positivity,” vocalist Jonas Aaltio describes the idea behind the new album. But before anyone raises the ‘hippie alarm’, the Finnish quartet’s new album is nothing but an emotional and passionate statement by an uncompromising upcoming band that has the right feeling for big melodies as well as enough crunch and loudness to make the punk rockers start the pit. Formed 2006 in Lahti, Finland NEW DEADLINE started off very influenced by the early 2000’s emo bands. Nowadays they draw their inspiration from a much wider range of music and bands like BIFFY CLYRO, THE XCERTS, CREEPER, BLACK FOXXES, LOWER THAN ATLANTIS, STATE CHAMPS, MODERN BASEBALL or RISE AGAINST. In recent years NEW DEADLINE toured with FUNERAL FOR FRIEND in Germany, supported bands like RISE AGAINST, ALL TIME LOW, TAKING BACK SUNDAY and played BOYSETSFIRE’s Family First Festival to promote 2015’s fulllength ‘Remember’ (also out on Redfield Records) also got wider notice with showcases at 2016’s Reeperbahn Festival in Germany. That the new record product doesn’t sound anything like DIY is not only the result of the band’s professional work but also goes to the credit of Romesh Dodangoda (MOT?RHEAD, BRING ME THE HORIZON, FUNERAL FOR A FRIEND, BULLET FOR MY VALENTINE, LOWER THAN ATLANTIS) who did the mixing at his Studio in the United Kingdom. “All songs share ideas of positive thinking and believing in yourself and in others. NEW DEADLINE has been a band for quite some time now and we have grown together through these years. ‘To Hope’ is honest, pure and alive. As a band we're not pretending to be something that we are not and we want to share this feeling with our fans and hope that each song offers people different ways to relate to them.” NEW DEADLINE have taken their experience as well as their ability to write addictive alternative hymns and combined this with an outstanding concept that will inspire the audience on their upcoming European tour and beyond.
