180gr vinyl. With his band Solar System, the rebellious singer Seydou Kon? aka Alpha Blondy, born in 1953 in Dimbokro, Ivoria, is the most successful and influential reggae act in West Africa. He succeeded in returning Jamaican music to its origins in Africa, which is why he is also called the Bob Marley of Africa. He calls himself an African Rasta. He fuses reggae with African music, but constantly expands the sound spectrum with pop and rock elements. In order to reach as many people as possible, he uses a wide variety of languages: Alpha Blondy sings not only in his West African mother tongue Dioula and in French and English, but also in Arabic and Hebrew. Among his most famous songs are "Apartheid Is Nazism" (1985) and "J?rusalem" (1986). Together with musicians from Ghana Alpha Blondy recorded his debut album "Jah Glory" in 1982.
