The next highlight of the 70ies retro and classic rock wave! Beelzefuzz from USA play their new brothers in spirit: Kadavar, Orchid, Scorpion Child and Graveyard are all on the wall with frightening ease. BEELZEFUZZ should be beaten up with wet towels for the stupidity of changing their name for a short time and now trading under this silly band name again. Several potential listeners are deterred so probably from the outset. The Allstar troupe of former members of illustrious US bands like Pale Divine, Revelation and the mighty Falcon have so much more to offer than dull fuzz guitars and pothead lyrics. "The Righteous Bloom" is built on a foundation of doom, but is deeply rooted in the heavy rock of the late sixties. Despite the leaden heaviness - in the two-part leads Pale Divine often shines through - the songs present themselves more variable and relaxed than on the strong 2013 debut. The riff-heavyness has given way to a more open hard rock attitude that doesn't shy away from ballads ('Eternal Waltz') with elegiac vocal melodies. It is to be hoped that this great, classic heavy rock album will find its listeners. (Deaf Forever)
