Peter Hammill about his X/Ten live recordings: "There is something strange about this release. For the first time, I think, I played all the songs from my latest album "From the Trees" during my tour in late 2017 and early 2018. One of the main intentions in recording "Trees" was that I should be able to play versions of all songs in a reduced form - a voice, a piano or a guitar - before I start the actual recording. So this live record tries to solve the impossible, the squaring of the circle: The recordings consist of live solo performances of the entire album, based entirely on the arrangements that the originals contained on the CD, but also true to the original spirit in which they were written.
