Ctulu, a black metal horde hailing from Northern Germany, have spent their career honing their sound through a number of recorded releases and live shows with the likes of Inquisition, Alcest and others. - DECIBEL MAGAZINE One of the aspects of this EP that makes it so good is the band’s skill at changing courses and interweaving diverse musical styles. And so “Ctulu Fhtagn” also includes some classic metal riffing, riveting lead work, and deep, stately clean vocals that bring to mind Vikings at the prow of a longboat. - NO CLEAN SINGING Ctulu creates another recording that remains true to the raw and melodic style of black metal from previous releases while also progressing with their style, the production sounds very professional while the lyrics are based upon the writings of H.P Lovecraft. - OCCULT BLACK METAL ZINE The only thing that is different, compared to most records in this genre, is the mixing and production is spectacular compared to sounding like it was recorded on a shitty mobile phone. If there was a film about Lovecraft character, the great and powerful Cthulhu being made then ‘Ctulu Fhtagn’ would be the perfect track to be featured. - UBER ROCK
