"Des Ruines Et Des Po?mes", Louis Arlette's second album, never fails. On the contrary: recorded at Studio Ferber with the help of Philippe Paradis (Christophe, Thi?faine, Zazie...), this album, conceived as a second birth, radiates power and anger, overflowed with heroic beauties, splendid bites, tumultuous bitterness. His clearer line, the relative impoverishment of his arrangements, the sharper angles of his electricity, his mechanical beats, his sounds like cut snakes, his sharp synths or his pointillist electricity let his songs inhale and exhale their melodies, good and bad, much freer and much more intimate. Darkness and light, one enlarges the other like a yin and a yang, which are indispensable for life, death, the splendor of all things. And in its dazzling clarity and devouring ambiguities, the lyrics in French, of a confusing truth and sincerity, find a deep resonance.
