Pavlo Simtikidis is a guitarist who "plays a Mediterranean sound that combines the folkloric styles of Greek, Spanish and Latin American music with pop feeling". On his new album, however, pop dominates for the first time. With over 200 broadcasts, Live in Kastoria, remains one of the highest earning pledge concerts for PBS. Pavlo return’s to Public Television with “Live in Guadalajara” celebrating his life’s work with a 93-piece orchestra backing him. As one of the worlds most popular Latin-style guitarists, Pavlo has sold over half a million albums and continues to tour the world playing to sold out theatres. This spectacular performance took place at the legendary Degollado Opera House, a 5-story historic national treasure in Guadalajara, Mexico. At the helm, musical director, Marco Parisotto conducted the evening with passion and sensitivity for every note that left the page. Pavlo performs his most popular compositions, including “Paradise;” “Andalusia By Night;” “Latin Love” and a heart felt dedication to his beloved Grandmother Sophia called “Eternal Flower.” Additionally, he presents an uplifting rendition of “Cancion Del Mariachi”. Special guests include, pop-tenor sensation, Mark Masri; husband and wife dance duo, Brandon and Chelsea; and a surprise appearance by one of Pavlo’s guitar idols, Brian Hughes.
