The great saxophonist Johannes Enders has been running a kind of laboratory called Enders Room for years. Here he treads stylistic paths that move far out of the aesthetics of jazz music and make hypnotic electronic music possible. Sometimes Enders also refines his pieces, built and programmed in his own studio, as an improviser. At the core, however, they are something like a private sound universe in which every sound, every beat and every little detail contributes to a musical language that unmistakably defines Enders Room. Awarded the SWR Jazz Prize - A melange of all the influences of the last 51 years, like countless concerts and recordings with jazz greats like Billy Hart, Lee Konitz, Kenny Wheeler, Richie Beirach or Bobby Hutcherson - He is supported by old and new companions: Germany's currently most exciting trumpeter Bastian Stein, Notwists vibraphonist Karl Ivar Refseth, the Swiss Groovemasters Wolfgang Zwiauer with the pound on bass and Wizzard Gregor Hilbe on drums and electronics.
