They're Irish, they're sisters, they're good! The three musicians are at home in the three hundred souls nest Malin (Irish: M?lainn), in the county of Donegal, in the far north of the Irish island. Karen, Lorna and Joleen McLaughlin call themselves "The Henry Girls", have all studied music and are multi-instrumentalists. The Henry Girls: Shout, Sister Shout COVERYour new album "Shout, Sister Shout" is a journey back in time and a musical homage to the legendary American jazz girl group "The Boswell Sisters", which had its popular peak in the late 1920s to mid 1930s. They were the model for other Dixieland female vocal trios, including "The Andrew Sisters" (Bei mir bist Du schoen, Rum and Cola Cola), Ella Fitzgerald was inspired by them, the soul disco queens "The Pointer Sisters" (Fire, Jump For My Love) in the 70s, and a decade later "The Pfister Sisters" (All's Well That's Boswell) were formed. Maxene Andrews used to say about the Boswells, "They took the idea of jazz and did it vocally." They took the idea of jazz and did it vocally. The Boswell sisters performed alongside Glen Miller, Benny Goodman and the Dorsey Brothers until the trio disbanded in 1936. After Boswell, Andrew, Pointer, Pfister - now Henry.
