The bassist, cellist and composer Henning Sieverts sends his long-standing trio "Symmethree" on a new journey through symmetrical landscapes - together with the two international jazz stars Nils Wogram (trombone) and Ronny Graupe (7-string guitar). After the celebrated CDs "Symmethree" (2012) and "Aerea" (2018), "Henning Sieverts Symmethree" now bows to the timeless art of Johann Sebastian Bach on his third CD production "Triple B". Bach has accompanied Sieverts since early childhood, in church concerts, cantatas and passions, but especially in the Suites for Violoncello Solo. Henning Sieverts is, of course, not the first jazz musician to deal with Bach, but he is taking a new, very personal path. Beyond B-A-C-H, Henning Sieverts bows to some of Bach's masterpieces (e.g. the "Sarabande" from the fifth cello suite in C minor). Sieverts transforms the "mood" of Bach's music into his own - the clarity, the verve, the structure, but also the austerity - and behind it all, pure beauty shines out! The unusual instrumentation of "Symmethree" with trombone, guitar and bass/cello allows for delightful tonal fusions and constantly changing task assignments: Everybody plays sometimes melody, sometimes bass function - in other words, basic democratic music-making.
