4 CD SET OF CLASSIC TOM PETTY BROADCAST RECORDINGS Perhaps the most eclectic artist to have emerged from the American New-Wave movement of the late 1970s, Tom Petty not only went the distance, but throughout his tragically short career, he associated and played with the absolute cream of the rock fraternity. Now, almost three year since his untimely death, this four-disc boxed set serves to celebrate the musicianship and compositional skills of Gainesville, Florida s favourite son. Featuring a number of excellent live recordings from Tom - both with and without his Heartbreakers - recorded throughout their tenure - begins with, on DISC ONE, Tom s solo-gig at The Dean Smith Center, Chapel Hill, NC, on 13th September 1989. DISC TWO and DISC THREE features his concert from The Coleman Coliseum, in Tuscaloosa, AL, on 6th October 1995, while this set concludes on DISC 4 with a fine collection of Tom s musical TV appearances, recorded between 1977 and 1994.
