Glenn Miller, creator of the Big Band swing was THE superstar of the pre-war years in the USA. With the song 'Chatanooga Choo Choo' he achieved the first hit in music history for which Miller received the very first 'Golden Record'. He played up to 50 performances per month with his orchestra and received fees that had previously been completely impossible. With catchy melodies and perfect brass sections, he overtook all other swing musicians of his time, such as Duke Ellington and Benny Goodman. When Miller volunteered for military service at the age of 38 to support the US Air Force in England, the music was put on hold. Sadly, on December 15, 1944 he disappeared under unexplained circumstances, never to be seen again. Miller's rocketing success and tragic end elevated him to legend status, with various orchestras still performing his music all over the world today. 'The Album' contains 50 original recordings including essential hits and lesser-known pieces.
