The Magnetic Fields' 1999 magnum opus 69 Love Songs is getting a vinyl reissue - and it looks amazing. The deluxe box set will feature 6x10" discs, with a full-size, 24-page colour booklet, complete with liner notes from A Series Of Unfortunate Events' Daniel Handler (aka Lemony Snicket) including an "in-depth interview and a track-by-track with songwriter, producer, and multi-instrumentalist Stephin Merritt." The record, which features 69 tracks, is described as "a celebration to the beauty, magic, humor, frustration, longing, and tenderness of the human condition." It was supposed to contain 100 tracks and be a "live musical revue", but was cut with Merritt feeling 100 was a bit long. Merritt will release a new 50-song record in "early 2017". 69 Love Songs is reissued 28 October via Domino. The box set is limited to 1000 copies
