Politicised rockers Midnight Oil were firmly established as one of Australia’s top bands when they released their raw and passionate Earth and Sun and Moon album in April 1993. That August they toured North America, beginning with a visit to Canada, where this intimate acoustic set was broadcast on Calgary FM. As well as material from Earth and Sun and Moon and classics from earlier albums, the performance includes a rare re-enactment of singer Peter Garrett’s original audition piece for the band, Jethro Tull’s Locomotive Breath. It’s presented here with background notes and images, and includes bonus tracks from their 1984 performance at the Channel Nightclub in Boston, MA.
