DONAUWELLENREITER, a quartet consisting of the four Viennese musicians Maria Craffonara (voc, violin), Thomas Casta?eda (piano), J?rg Mikula (drums) and Lukas Lauermann (cello), have made a name for themselves. With their third album "Euphoria" (appearing in the autumn of 2016), DONAUWELLENREITER will be presenting further artistic flights, presenting "Diversity" and "Mess?i" (2014, published by the renowned German label Intuiton) Seriousness astonishing and inspiring work. The sum of the musical impressions and experiences of the individual participants, which include folklore, pop, jazz, classical, chamber music, world music and more, all of which also compose, merges into a gripping, sensual and intellectually stimulating whole. Although the nuances of the unique sound and style of the DAUAUWELLENRIDER can be linguistically speaking, the beauty and clarity of this music can sometimes be speechless. Last but not least, this collective masterfully knows how to present his music in the concert, to let it speak freely and yet concentrated. DONAUWELLENREITER succeeds in designing an accessible and demanding contemporary E-music, which also fascinates and inspires listeners, who orient their music perception of quality and artistic substance, and renounce to compulsive genre-conventions. Thus DONAUWELLENREITER finds their attentive audience in Belgrade, Canada, Lucerne or Portugal, as well as in the native Vienna, whereby a grown urban openness of this city is without doubt a basic element and a precondition of their art.
