He began playing music at the age of 6 studying classical piano and as a teenager he shifted to jazz. His style is most often compared to pianist Bill Evans. At the young age of 19 years he was already playing professionally at many local jazz haunts in Pittsburgh and later on voted as "Best Jazz Pianist". The album The Frank Cunimondo Trio Introducing Lynn Marino was originally released in 1971 on Frank Cunimondo's own label Mondo Records. Frank recorded the album with the talented Lynn Marino, who was only 19 years old at the time. The album includes Frank's most popular recording "Feelin' Good", which eventually became an international hit as the song was used in a commercial by a popular beer brand.
