Loom were founded in Leamington Spa / Warwickshire in 2012, meanwhile they live in London. Their first single was released in December 2012 on tape, the three tracks "Bleed On Me", "Lizard" and the Misfits cover "She" sold out within hours. In March 2013, the next single "I Get A Taste" will follow with the B-side "She's Not There", a cover of the zombies. In the fall of the same year, another cassette, limited to 200 copies, appeared on the market, with six other covers that will reveal their influences: Bad Brains, Warsaw, Joy Division, Pixies, GG Allin and "Seasick" by The Jesus Lizard. BBC 1 discovers the band, this leads to the great honor of supporting the Rolling Stones on July 6, 2013 in London's Hyde Park. Afterwards, in Great Britain and Germany, With Frank Carter & The Rattlesnakes, Queen Kwong and Turbowolf on tour. At the beginning of December 2013 another release of "I Get A Taste", "Seasick" and three new songs called "Acid King City", "Lice" and "Salt". Especially "Acid King City" gets positive resonances: For the insider website 'The Line of Best Fit', it is the "best moment of their powerful, loud and greasy garage rock". ClashMusic, a hip UK magazine, chooses the track to the "Track of the Day" and calls it "probably the most perfect moment to date." In May 2014 Loom released the vinyl single "Yosoko", with the B-side "Lowdown", a cover of Wire. A video was also created. In June 2015, there is another vinyl single: "Hate" and a new version of "Bleed On Me". Loom are often classified by the critics in the tradition of the bands of the early 90s, their mixture of punk and grunge usually raises the comparison with nirvana. The self-understanding of the British band is different: one wants to be a "believable rock band with personality". Especially singer Badwan, whose brother Faris sings with the English Top 10 band The Horrors, criticizes in interviews that many other bands are not aggressive enough to call themselves punk or grunge. In contrast to the 'Q' magazine he called "the lack of quality of the British indie scene" as a reason for the development of Loom. In another interview with the renowned daily The Guardian, he explains his band's preference for tapes: the quality of a tapes is best suited to their kind of music. He also preferred tapes because one needs more work and creativity for the creation and the artwork. In addition, a tape would be better kept and hardly lost. For their upcoming debut, the five have made a lot, because they do not want to copy neither as well as into no category, so Badwan. So they recorded one half of the album in self-government, the other with John Coxon in Ray Davies' Konk studio. "Barbed Wire", "Bleed On Me" and "Hate" sound like a hermit from Stooges punk of the 70s and 90s, while "Barbed Wire" More in the direction of classic US hardcore punk and "Seasick" is oriented on Melvins sound. Other pieces such as "Nailbender" are more than metal-influenced misfits-Goth-Punk
