It was only last year that the members of PRIME CREATION got together to launch their new band project. Creative bottlenecks do not seem to be the order of the day since, just a few months later, the band has already moved into the studio to record their first longplayer. And the self-titled debut album of the Swedish Quintet sounds as if the gentlemen in this constellation were already much longer. The eight songs always remind us of the latest albums of BRAINSTORM, both in terms of the impressively captured vocals and the numerous midtempo staccato's. But also in terms of hooklines, "Prime Creation" emerges as an absolute bank; Numbers such as 'Scream', 'War Is Coming' and '27' will remain as they are, while slightly embroidered fabric like 'Crown Of Creation' with its EVERGREY tendencies in other areas is also quite convincing. The Scandinavians create a fairly modern interpretation of the classic Power Metals and also rely on thick sound walls, which are captured very differently from the keyboards to the rhythm fraction. What might be desired from time to time is a somewhat brighter track, which again favors the variability of the compositions. But complaint is actually deported in this debut. PRIME CREATION starts with a really strong debut in the business and should already have the best tickets for the Pirsch after a financially stronger label.
