Tom Waits appeared 3 times on the show, once each in 1973, 1974 and 1975, and every time he was on he both performed his latest tunes and was interviewed by Howard. The recordings of these shows are now legendary and feature in their entirety on this double disc set. Compiled in full here for the first time, this set gives both a magical insight into the development of Waits’ music through the earliest part of his career, and provides a glorious listening experience from the time when Tom was still at his barroom balladeering best.
