Poulenc developed his own style from a synthesis of various influences between Debussy's Impressionism and Dadaist movements. The Italian pianist and conductor Matteo Fossi has recorded Poulenc's highly heterogeneous chamber music together with a group of fellow musicians. Works for violin, viola, cello, double bass, flute, oboe, clarinet, trumpet, trombone, horn and cor anglais, bassoon and piano result in a colourful palette of timbres and moods.
