Long Arms come from Virginia, a state in the USA, which has already produced many bands of different genres. Founder and mastermind James Menefee was already successful with his bands River City High and Higley. With Long Arms he returns to his roots as a punk rocker. Because that's exactly what Long Arms do: rock? n roll punk rock with a lot of melody and a song that is pop but full of pressure. A comparison with bands like Gaslight Anthem and Social Distortion can't be denied. Menefee wrote the songs to "Young Life" almost entirely on nightly trips to the band's rehearsals. The album captures this mood perfectly. It is about preserving the youthful values of friendship and rebellion even in times of fear and depression
