The Bear is a concept EP, second opus of a trilogy, about an old giant bear who awakens from hibernation and proceeds to go through the last adventure of his life. It features a driving southern, swampy, Americana blues sound. The band is Shawn James on guitar and vocals, Jedidiah Brandon on banjo and guitar, Sage Cornelius on fiddle, Jeff Bodine on bass and Kirby Westmoreland on drums. MetalSucks enthuses "if this shit doesn’t get you clappin’ your hands, tappin’ your foot, and lookin’ for a partner with whom to do-si-do STAT, then you need to check your pulse.” Danger Dog Blog catalogs the band's sound citing "early heavy rock, like something out of the mid-Seventies, and classic Southern rock. But there are more layers put upon this: bluegrass, folk, stoner, country and swamp music."
