Vanish don't fit into any drawer; modern, but still oldschool, sophisticated power metal with some prog, thrash and emotion, but still with melody and groove. The press release describes the band from Stuttgart, which also demonstrates its sense of humour on their Facebook presence, by "David Hasselhoff, Scooter, Die Prinzen, Die Amigos and many more" filling the lines that describe which artists the band thinks are good. If one could now assume that the quintet does not know stylistically where it wants to go, one is wrong. And that makes the current album "The Insanity Abstract" more than clear.
