ltd 666, slipcase.When in the late 80's Thrash Metal took off in the land of kangaroos, it didn't take long for Hobbs' Angel of Death to spread his black wings. Founder and mastermind Peter Hobbs had earned his first thrash spurs as a Tyrus fronter, but with his new band he followed a bigger destiny:"I was a huge Slayer fan! Their albums just blew me away - I put the records on and my head exploded, my guts were torn out and I was just totally destroyed - the only thing I could think of was how I could ever keep up with that genius? Then a voice said to me,' Go! Go ahead and never lose sight of your goal!" So we made the debut and I'm still fucking proud of the album!" The Hobbs' debut was released in 1988 by Steamhammer Records and became a bestseller all over Europe. The record was recorded in February and March 1988 at the Musiclab Studios in Berlin. Harris Johns was hired as a producer, as one of several illustrious names who contributed to the album at Peter's request:"He was absolutely my first choice, just like Sebastian Kr?ger, who painted an incredible cover artwork. "Together we've created an album that can still compete with the greats!" In 1990 the debut on Teickiku Records was re-released as a split with Razor. This version swaps the vinyl pages and contains with "Bubonic Plague" and "Cold Steel" two bonus tracks, which are of course also included on the High Roller version. Gemastered was the album by Patrick W. Engel from TEMPLE OF DISHARMONY. Peter finally has a listening guide for old and new fans:"Sit down, relax, enjoy it!
