The Ludwigsburg-based band LICENCE is the baby of guitarist, songwriter and local scene leader Steam Thiess, who after years of break with his native music making, wants to give free rein to his creative vein and return to the stages of this world. In May 2014 he founded LICENCE. Now the right fighters were missing. Why wander far away when you can fill the post at the microphone perfectly within your family? Namely with Steam's daughter Jacky. Shortly afterwards, with Pappe on bass and drummer Sammy Sin, capable companions joined in and the LICENCE line-up was complete. Shortly after the formation of the band, it was already possible to play first shows with greats like TERRANA, STORMWITCH, PRAYING MANTIS, STOP STOP, TRI STATE CORNER, SOULDRINKER or TWENTYDARKSEVEN, followed by festivals like ROCK THE KING or DALMSTOCK OPEN AIR. In 2016 the pre-production was started, which in 2017 became the debut album "Licence 2 Rock". Mixed and mastered by none other than Achim K?hler (PRIMAL FEAR, BRAINSTORM) the album shows the whole spectrum of the formation. Back to the 80s without being dusty. Heavy, melodious, but always getting to the point, the song material gets stuck in the ear immediately. You can't buy the license to rock, you have to have it. LICENCE have them!!!
