"Earth Tones" - warm and subdued colours - characterize many of the new titles on this solo guitar album, twelve of which come from Markus Segschneider's pen and two of which are outside arrangements, by Christian Bruhn ("Timm's Theme") and Gilbert O' Sullivan ("Clair"). Some pieces - such as the optimistic "Spring in Florence" or the virtuoso and sparkling "Airborne" - have already developed their charm at numerous concerts, others were created especially for this album. Stylistically, a wide range of styles is once again stretched from Renaissance-inspired sounds ("Galliard") to the elegant ("When You Leave") and modern, groovy finger style outbursts ("Hammer and Tongs")
