For more than 20 years bassist and composer Martin Wind and his family have been living in New Jersey, in the mist of New York, the world capital of jazz. For him,"Light Blue" is both position determination and retrospective. To musical friendships, for example, that have arisen in the course of this time. More than half a dozen top-class musical friends have asked Wind to join the studio for the production, including Canadian trumpeter Ingrid Jensen, Israeli clarinettist Anat Cohen, drummer Matt Wilson (USA) and Duduka Da Fonseca (Brazil). Together with the Baltic Sea representative Martin Wind, they form a colourful, international unit that spans three continents. All compositions and arrangements were composed by Wind, but he leaves enough space for his playmates to set soloistic splashes of colour. The role of the band leader lies with the Schlack von der Flensburger F?rde, who moved out to seek - and find - his musical happiness in New York. At the same time he gave himself an early gift with the album, because he celebrates his 50th birthday at the end of April.
