The dark atmosphere of Shakespeare‘s text should also be implemented musically, that is why this album is a rather slow album for REBELLION, and is characterized by a dark and gloomy atmosphere. The band did not use overdubs or quantized drums and put the focus on the drums with a high share of audience microphones used. During the album‘s mix the guitars were panned left and right, making room for the vocals and the bass in the middle. The emerging sound resembles the live sound of the band and leans against the sound of big classic metal albums of the late 70‘s and 80‘s. As you see, REBELLION not only returned to their roots thematically. Just like on their debut album, the band integrated spoken word passages from Shakespeare‘s drama into some of the songs; the listener witnesses acoustically how the Earl of Gloucester‘s eyes are gouged out, for example. All songs were developed and practiced in the band‘s rehearsal room. As usual, REBELLION will play many songs from the new album on their upcoming tour. The set list will have a strong „King Lear meets Macbeth“ vibe, and the band will play quite a few songs from the debut, they have not played live in a long time.
