SOURCE OF RAGE are four young metalheads from the region of Hildesheim, who are competing with their melodic groove metal. Her latest work "Realise the Scope" combines Lamb of God's stomping groove with the darkness of Scandinavian melodic death metal. Even though the guys are still in their twenties, they are experienced metal veterans. Source of Rage has been around for 8 years and since then you've been playing shows and EPs from time to time. The talent and potential was unmistakable. So recording a full-fledged album was only the right step. If you throw "Realise the Scope" into the good old CD player, you will notice the fun at first. At no time will it get boring, because SOURCE OF RAGE move musically somewhere between Groove-Metal a la LAMB OF GOD or DRONE with a mighty pinch of melodic melodic melancholy a la IN FLAMES. Songs like "Drown in Your Own Mind" or "Pacing, Gathering and Spreading" (my tip!) sound very much like the American model, while especially the chorus in "A Matter of A Coward" is very Scandinavian. Oliver Roffmann clearly shows that he can not only groove and shradden on guitar, but also masters melodic licks. All in all, the listener is offered the full load of groovy and double-bass drums, a bell-shaped and tugging bass and fat guitars, which are complemented with the shouts and clean vocals of frontman Marko Krause. Even though the title track doesn't tickle me in the middle of the album, there's no provincial side to the album, but more mature metal. Mad propz an Hannes Huke, aka Hann/Jo, for the rough sound.
