In 2016, Agn?s Desarthe collected and restored in words the words of Ren? Urtreger through the pages of the book Mise en page 1 "Le Roi Ren?". In 2017, a good exchange of good procedure, Ren? Urtreger's notes accompany Agn?s Desarthe's voice on "Premier-Rendez-Vous", which transports the writer to the world of professional singing. For the occasion, Ren? Urtreger invites several talented musicians to join them. Recorded in May and June 2017 by Vincent Mahey at the Studio Sextan-La Fonderie in Malakoff, the album "Premier Rendez-Vous" (Na?ve-Believe/Musicast) is announced for October 27,2017. Between Ren? Urtreger and Agn?s Desarthe, history is thus written in several chapters. First of all, their first meeting followed by regular meetings which allow the writer to collect the pianist's confidences. From these elements she wrote a superb biography entitled "King Ren?". During the many encounters that preceded the writing of the book, the pianist discovers Agn?s Desarthe's interest in the music she learned and practiced in her youth. From there events follow one another. During a literary festival (in Nevers) and presentations of the work (in Paris to the Duke of Lombards) the two accomplices have the opportunity to gather in music around piano and microphone. Then there is only one step to go from the stage to the studio to record an album and it's done now. Ren? Urtreger invites Agn?s Desarthe to join him for a studio recording. First Rendezvous "is the last chapter (... to date) of the collaboration between Ren? Urtreger and Agn?s Desarthe. On "Premier Rendez-Vous" Agn?s Desarthe says three texts. Perfectly written texts of his own that move or make you smile. La G?ante accompanied by the violin, Le Foin in duet with the drums and La Douche En Plein Air with the piano. Agn?s Desarthe has moved from the world of letters to the world of notes, and even though her participation as a jazz singer is modest, she returns to the vocabulary and syntax of music. She sings in English, The Man I Love accompanied by the piano-saxophone-drums trio and Body and Soul and You Go To My Head in duet with the piano. In French, she takes with the ensemble Premier-Rendez-Vous, the title immortalized by the late Danielle Darieux. With intelligence, she doesn't let herself be trapped in the role of the jazz singer "who would think she was...". Agn?s Desarthe simply takes the risk of being herself.
