Chris Welch, London-born journalist and author, was a reporter for Melody Maker in the 1960s covering the rise of just about every major band, including Pink Floyd, Cream, Jimi Hendrix, Traffic, the Rolling Stones, and many more. In the 60s and 70s, he frequently went on the road with such high-profile bands as Led Zeppelin, the Who, and David Bowie. Over the past few decades, Welch has continued to work for a variety of music magazines and has written more than twenty books.
