South African singer/songwriter Jeremy Hewitt released his debut "Trading Change"in 2014 with the support of guitar and loop station as well as rapper Motheo Moleko and saxophonist Jamie Faull. The album soon reached the top of the charts in his home country, and for iTunes South Africa it was even the "Album of the Year". With the No. 1 singles "Down South (ft. Motheo Moleko)","Skinny Blues" and "Sinner" Hewitt achieved an international breakthrough. At the MTV Africa Music Awards 2015 Hewitt won the "Best Pop & Alternative Award", at the South African Music Awards he was nominated as best newcomer. But that's in the past. In 2017, Jeremy Loops entered the studio with Jake Gosling (James Bay, Lady Gaga, Shawn Mendes) and Will Hicks (Ed Sheeran, Lilly Allen, Bas lle) to produce a second album. Here, too, the likeable South African relies on a melodious mixture of folk and pop, guitar and vocals, sound loops and layers. Songs such as "Waves","Freak","Rather Have Me Dead" and "The Shore" underline the fact that the sequel to the brilliant debut album "Trading Change" also has the potential to become a chart player.
