The "Rockpalast"concert by Mitch Ryder in October 1979 in the Grugahalle in Essen was an unforgettable experience for everyone involved. Thanks to this re-released boxing set with two DVDs and three CDs, the latter-born children can once again take part in this memorable "Famous Full Moon Concert". Besides Mitch Ryder, Southside Johnny and Nils Lofgren were also booked for this event. Ryder should graduate. He and his colleagues spent the long time until the show to empty the minibar. Ryder appeared at the last minute with a half-empty bottle of Jack Daniels, the drunken live interview with presenter Alan Bangs is television history. But a remarkably intense concert followed, in which Ryder gave everything and turned his heart outwards. The soul shouter's penetrating screams chased the audience from "Ain't Nobody White (Can Sing The Blues)" to "Subterranean Homesick Blues" to the final Doors classic "Soul Kitchen". Twenty-five years later, Ryder returned to the Rockpalast with an English guitarist and the German blues band Engerling - sober but with an unchanged intensive performance.
