Formed in Coventry, Warwickshire, in 1963 The Sorrows were part of the British beat boom. The Sorrows were the raunchiest, hard-edged, most aggressive band in England in 1965. Their brand of thumping R & B/Blues/Garage-Rock, also known as freakbeat, at the time was ground-breaking and way ahead of its time. Their music made The Stones sound like easy listening. The Sorrows had their own hard rhythm'n blues sound with occasional fine ballads. Most of their material was original.
