Once glamour and gloria in a flash: DJ Smokes latest mixtape edition is dedicated to the glittering career of Tyrone William Griffin alias Ty Dolla $ign in 33 tracks. The Grammy-nominated producer, R&B musician and rapper from sunny Los Angeles appeared for the first time in 2011 as co-author of the single "Young, Wild & Free", with which Snoop Dogg and Wiz Khalifa enjoyed great success. By 2016 nine mixtapes followed, including guest contributions by rappers such as Future. In 2013 Ty Dolla $ign released several singles on Atlantic Records with prominent support, including "Paranoid (feat. B. o. B.)" and "Or Nah (feat. Wiz Khalifa & The Weeknd)". But that's not all: Griffin was also featured on tracks by Chris Brown, YG and Trey Songz. He also co-wrote and produced Chris Brown's number one hit "Loyal" as well as Kanye West's "Only One" and Rihanna's "FourFiveSeconds". Two years later, his debut album "Free TC" was released, which pays homage to his brother who served a life sentence. 2017 Atlantic released "Beach House 3", Griffin's second long-player. Participants included Lil Wayne, Skrillex and Damian Marley. In addition to his solo activities, Ty Dolla $ign is also a member of the D. R. U. G. producer team.
