Patricia Vonne is a singer, songwriter, bandleader, actress, activist, award-winning cartoonist and sister of the world-famous director Robert Rodriguez. In 2015 Vonne released "Viva Bandolera", an album completely sung in Spanish. Their seventh CD "Top Of The Mountain" is bilingual and contains all the multi-layered components that make up Vonne's unique musical profile, namely rock, folk, flamenco, Tex-Mex and Latin. No wonder:"I am a Tejana of the 9th generation, born in San Antonio,"says the resident of Austin,"and thus a fusion of many cultures and influences." She describes her rich and colourful sound carpet as "Roots Rock with influences from south of the border". Vonne is accompanied by an ensemble of talented musicians. These include saxophone virtuoso Johnny Reno, bayo sexto player Max Baca, guitarists David Grissom and Joe Reyes and keyboarder Scott Plunkett from Chris Isaak's band. Guest appearances include Willie Nile, Joe King Carrasco, Rick Del Castillo, Alejandro Escovedo and Steven Medina Hufsteter (Tito & Tarantula). In songwriting, Vonne was joined by Robert LaRoche, her long-term stage partner, and Rick Castillo took over the co-production.
