With confident and heavy guitar riffs, catchy choruses and dizzying guitar solos, Mother Trudy swoops in as a new and exciting rock band from Oslo. The four piece, which consists of an even draw of Swedes and Norwegians, chooses rock history from the top shelf, but doesn’t end up sounding too retro. It’s rock that acknowledges the past, but at the same time wishes to bring it into the future. Even though the band only started as recent as late 2016, they have already released a four song EP, a music video, and played at some of Oslo’s biggest venues. Johnny W ilhelmsen of The W ilhelmsens gave their EP a resounding 5/6 and said that “Mother Trudy is for all you out there who like to bang your head when you hear rock ‘n’ roll, and who thinks that Sabbath, Maiden, Soundgarden and Scandirock is cool.” This spring they release their debut album and it is recorded live and raw at Velvet Recordings with the great help of Frode Martinsen at the faders and mixed by Kai Christoffersen.
