PROPHET & MNDSGN - Wanna Be Your (Sealed) (LP)

Prophet is a funk musician from the San Francisco Bay Area underground. Until this year his name was only on an obscure album called "Right On Time", which was released as a private pressing on Treasure Records in 1984. Peanut Butter Wolf, the founder of Stones Throw, was immediately impressed. "It sounded a bit like Prince or The Time, but very lo-fi, recorded in a chamber," Prophet returns. His new album "Wanna Be Your Man" was produced by Mndsgn and sounds at the same time like retro hit and dreams of the future. Prophet became the tour opener for Snoop Dogg & Dam-Funk in 2013.
