"Salty tastes the wind" is a detailed review of Rummelsnuff's musical life. On 2 CDs or double vinyl you will find the greatest hits, popular hits and classics of the singing muscle mountain, completely reworked in sound technology and in partly new versions with his long-time comrade-in-arms, Maat Asbach. A comprehensive exhibition of the probably most original pop artist from Germany was long overdue. From the GDR avant-garde punk musician (friends of Italian opera), to the Berghain doorman and strength sportsman, to the underground star and favourite of the tabloid press - Rummelsnuff's career is at least as impressive as his visual appearance, which is often described as a mixture of Popeye and Hulk. Moreover, most of his old works have been out of print for some years now, so that the demand for the sports ballads, rough worker songs and seafarers' shanties contained in them could no longer be satisfied with a steadily growing fan community for a while. So "Salzig schmeckt der Wind" of course not only contains the title-giving sailor's anthem - no, the captain himself takes us through the most important stations of an incomparable ocean voyage, from its beginnings in 2004 to the climax of "Rummelsnuff & Asbach" to date. The whole series of songs has been remastered and several classics shine in new mixes and new recordings, in which the captain's companion, Maat Asbach, was of course also allowed to play an active role. So this wild, musical seafaring is equally interesting for old fans and newcomers. In times when the musical landscape is becoming increasingly desolate due to increasing uniformity, originals are needed again. And Rummelsnuff is simply unique in every respect, edgy, raw and endearing - the secret superhero of the German music scene. Captain, take us with you
