Oslo's hotly-tipped power-trio Spielbergs release their debut EP, "Distant Star", where they arrive fully-formed with a 5 track masterpiece of anthemic noise-pop and immediate indie-rock. A collection of their first recordings and boasting a blueprint that touches upon the raw energy and melodic enthusiasm of Superchunk, early Japandroids, Titus Andronicus, ...Trail Of Dead and more, their sound is both steeped in nostalgia and entirely their own. Recorded in their native Norway with Tord ??verland Knudsen, propulsive drumming and post-rock influences dip and dive throughout, but with an immediacy in places, such as on the hook-filled title track, awash with warm guitars, that suggest the arrival of a major new talent on an international level.
