Dominique Vantomme of VANTOMME, is a pianist, keyboarder, composer, bandleader, music teacher and producer, as well known for his work with many European pop and rock acts as for the jazz piano instructor at the music conservatory in Kortrijk, Belgium. This album was born from his nomadic adventures: journeys in 2016 to Stick Men, in Holland, and meetings with his old buddy, MoonJunes Leonardo Pavkovic; and shortly afterwards with the legendary bass player / embroiderer Tony Levin of King Crimson, Peter Gabriel and Stick Men Hall of Fame. In the studio session that followed shortly afterwards, Dom and Tony joined MoonJune artist Michel Delville (The Wrong Object; Dout; Machine Mass), also from Belgium, who was recruited on the guitar, and another Belgian musician, Maxime Lenssens, with the time recording tasks. The spontaneity and freshness of this set of bubbling heights reflects the equally unpretentious way in which the meeting itself came together. With some very hip music sketches by Dominique Vantomme, the band gets full artistic freedom - and with all participants in top form, the resulting music weaves and winds its way along previously unspoken paths. Breathtaking.
