On September 15th, our guitar player Max Moya died suddenly and randomly. Max was our friend and brother. We have each played music with Max for years. Frontline (’96), Heidnik (’99), The Revenge (’05), he even did gang vocals on the Kingdom demo (’06). Eaten Alive didn’t form in hopes of becoming a successful band, Eaten Alive formed as group of old friends who wanted to write and play hardcore together. Every week we laughed. We wrote songs that no one will ever love more than we do. We wrote this album and put everything we had into it. Every great riff. Every dumb idea. Our friends Joe McKay and Chris Striegel laid guest vocals, and Jotham Oliver of Wisdom in Chains did a guest track as well. We fucking love it. Max loved it. We named it "Masterpiece of Ignorance." Eaten Alive will not continue as a band. Despite this, the amazing people at Fast Break Records helped us release "Masterpiece of Ignorance" in Max's memory. We offer this 12-song Masterpiece now, so you can hear what 5 friends created together in a practice space in Harrowgate/Port Richmond section Philly, laughing, joking, bickering, sweating. We will miss Max Moya for the rest of our lives, and feel very lucky to have been able to spend the last two years doing this band with him. We all feel that a piece of us is gone and will never be replaced. We are grateful to everyone who supported us, and also to everyone who has donated, or raised money for his family.
